General User Tips For
Pumps & Heaters:
1:
As with all pond related electrical products pumps, heater units, UV's,
etc, should for safety purposes be connected via a RCD unit.
2:
To achieve maximum flow rates make use of the largest diameter hose (or rigid
pipe), and keep bends or long horizontal runs restricted to a minimum.
3:
Where applicable correct use of the float switch will ensure that in the
event of a pipe or filter failure that the pond is not emptied of water
to the point of killing the fish. For this reason do make sure that the
float switch balloon always has free movement to travel.
4:
In the rare event of poor performance or pump failure check the device
for internal blockage. Always disconnect from the electric's supply
before doing this. On the "Power Pump" range the base plate
should be removed for inspection of the impeller, however it must NOT be
dismantled beyond this point.
5:
Temporary blocking on a pump will likely activate the thermal cutout
switch. This is a good safety feature, and is not an indicator of a
manufacturing fault. In any event of failure allow 20 minutes for the
pump to cool down and the auto switch to restart - before taking any
further remedial action.
