| Quick Introduction To All Cloverleaf Product Ranges: | |||
| Designed and manufactured in Britain the superb “Cloverleaf” filter range has something to offer to all groups of hobbyists and specialist Koi keepers who seek quality and performance. Each range of products described below is covered by separate web pages (providing greater detail), but the data below will briefly outline what is available together with the designated usage. | |||
| Below: ADTEC Multi Bay Filtration Systems: | |||
![]()
|
The ADTEC range is best
described as advanced technology incorporated into a multi bay filter,
with such significant improvements being available as an option to all
pump fed CL Professional range of filters, and all pump fed filters in
the Genesis Mk 2 range. Fundamental design features of ADTEC filters involve a floating media to the standard vortex bay which through performance offers superior mechanical protection to other biological mediums within the filter. This system is known as PSS (Particle Separation System), which can be briefly classified as a highly refined vortex - albeit that the Cloverleaf designed media does also have first class biological properties. For further details see "New PSS Filter Range" section. |
||
| Below: CL Professional Multi Bay Filtration Systems: | |||
![]() |
The “CL
Professional” range is available in 5 sizes and configurations, and is
the system which has enjoyed an international reputation from dedicated
enthusiastic Koi keepers around the globe. Flexibility is offered with
systems being either gravity or pump fed, and very large ponds can
easily be managed through multi tank setups. All units incorporate a
first vortex bay, with carefully designed mechanical and biological
filtration mediums to the remaining bays. Maintenance is based upon user
ease and simplicity. For further details see "Professional CL Range" section |
||
| Below: Genesis Multi Bay Filtration Systems: | |||
![]() |
The
“Genesis” range of multi bay in-line filtration systems are
available in 3 sizes, and whilst generally emulating the design concept
and standards of the “CL” range they are better suited to the mixed
ornamental pond, or Koi pond where high fish loads are not present. Yet
again the system can be installed in tandem, or in addition can make a
super secondary system when connected to a skimmer unit. For certain the
well engineered “Genesis” range is not a poor relation to anything,
and can happily stand scrutiny and evaluation in comparison to many
other leading manufacturers products. For further details see "Genesis Range" section |
||
| Below: Genesis Mk II Multi Bay Filtration Systems: | |||
![]() |
If President
George Bush wished to purchase a filtration system it’s believed he
would greatly appreciate the “battleship” construction of the
“Genesis II” range. Although these multi bay systems are only
available in 4 standard sizes, they can be manufactured in numerous
"one
off" configuration to suite the customers specifications (with mediums as
required). The “Genesis II” range will withstand direct land
backfilling, and yet again can be pump or gravity fed. Standard design
includes a vortex to the first bay, with a choice of mechanical and
biological mediums to the remaining bays. This range shouts out top
quality. For further details see "Genesis Mk ll Range" section |

Cloverleaf
“BioCone 4” (size 1200mm high x 780mm diameter) has been especially
manufactured for commercial projects or trade specialists only
(see Commercial Projects). This unit may be configured in numerous multi
bay designs up to 8 bays. For further details please telephone "Cloverleaf Office" |
||
| Below: Particle Seperation System (PSS Filter): | |||
![]() |
The PSS
is to set to bring about a major re-think to all pond keepers/hobbyists
who acknowledge the proven virtues of multi-bay filter systems, and the
importance of water clarity. In brief Cloverleaf’s innovative but uncomplicated design for the PSS (Particle Separation System) can as a single tank/bay be used in a stand alone situation (providing mechanical & biological filtration). Alternatively the PSS can be hooked into any existing pump fed multi-bay filter system where it would replace any vortex bay - with any existing vortex then being converted into a bona-fide biological bay/chamber. The key design concept of the PSS is to remove/trap suspended particles/solids from the water which would typically flow straight through many vortex bays and thus pollute any biological media. In brief then the PSS can be classified as a highly refined vortex unit, which of course means that any existing filter (or bays) require far less maintenance - meaning a greater biological bed is established. This is surely a great asset ? For further details see "PSS Filter Range" section |
||
| Below: Pond Filter Kits: | |||
![]() |
Beyond time
and research not everyone is able to match a filter with a suitable pump
and UV clarifier, and with this in mind Cloverleaf offer a package
solution via boxed “Pond Filter Sets” which not only removes any
guesswork on selection, but importantly offers well designed quality components at a
competitive and attractive price. For sure this is just what the
beginner or small pond owner needs and rightly deserves. The three “Pond Filter Sets” available are based on Cloverleaf’s existing range of pumped water supply filters which include the F4 and F20 (from the “Bio Clear” range), together with the CL1 (from the “Professional” range). The CL1 and F20 kits are supplied with a stainless steel UV clarifier, and all kits incorporate Cloverleaf’s latest “Turbo Pumps”. For further details see "Boxed Pond Filter Kits" section |
||
| Below: Compact Integral Vortex Filter Range: | |||
![]() |
The “Compact” range is
available in 3 different sizes, and is identified by type through its
unique design of making use of an integral open cavity thus forming the
advantages of a vortex – where of course solids and particles drop out
of suspension (through spinning) before passing through the mechanical
and biological mediums. The range (subject to size) is suitable for
ornamental ponds, or Koi ponds where the fish load is small. Although
only available as a pumped supply these units are also ideal as a
secondary filter connected to a surface skimmer. As with all Cloverleaf
filters maintenance is easy, and construction quality is first class.
For certain the “Compact” range (with its very small footprint) is
frequently overlooked by many hobbyists, but this is a mistake. For further details see "Compact Series" section |
||
| Below: Bio Clear Budget Filter Range: | |||
![]() |
Within the
constraints of small budget filter systems the “Bio Clear” range
still has its design roots of achieving good water flows and separation
of biological and mechanical filtration mediums (see F20 model).
Available in 6 configurations the “Deluxe” range incorporates
a UV clarifier with the spraybar (providing aeration), and all are best
suited to the ornamental or goldfish pond – or instances where very
small fish loads are applicable. In the value for money stakes the
“Bio Clear” range can hold its head up high in comparison to that
offered by its trading competitors. For further details see "Bio Clear Range" section |
||
| Below: Combo DeLuxe Multi Bay Vegetable Filter | |||
![]() |
Making the
best from known research of vegetable filters reducing nitrates, and
thus greatly helping to reduce algae’s (especially blanket weed),
Cloverleaf have combined such attributes into a small 5 stage multi bay
filter thereby offering the best of both worlds. Key features of design
are the quality of mechanical and biological mediums used together with
a desired up and down water flow pattern through the unit – all making
for a somewhat unique system that only needs a major service once a
year. Plants are not supplied, but an adequate quantity of lightweight
aqua-bead planting media is supplied to fill the lid. For further details see "Bio Clear Range" section |
||
| Below: Biological Fluidised Bed Filters | |||
![]() |
The ability
of Fluidised Bed filters to biological cater for extremely high level
fish loads has been well documented, as have the wear and short life
problems encountered by some companies producing such devices back in
the year 2000. Only now in 2002 after considerable field and laboratory
research can Cloverleaf offer the very best in FB’s – assisted
greatly by the unique specification of silica sand used, and which is known to
offer superior bacteria colonisation than that achieved by coral sand
and other common types. Cloverleaf FB’s are manufactured in 3 varying
sizes, and are available in two designs – (1) Pumped with gravity
return (2) Pumped with pressurised return, with these models prefixed
"P". Seen illustrated in this
photo are both ranges. For further details see "Fluidised Bed Range" section |
||
| Below: Cloverleaf UV Clarifiers - General: | |||
![]() |
All Cloverleaf UV Clarifiers carry a “Clear Water Guarantee” (see details elsewhere), and incorporate the unique design feature of creating a rotating water path along the length of the quartz tube – thus increasing the contact time of algae’s and pathogens to the rays of the ultraviolet lamp. As with all Cloverleaf products the UV units are manufactured with a design emphasis on safety, performance, long life, ease of maintenance, and of course good value. The UV units are available in a very extensive range of sizes from 8 watt to 864watt (1 to 12 bar), with much larger modular cabinets (up to 30 bar) available to trade specialists or Cloverleaf retailers dealing with large commercial projects. Important Note: Due to the great value offered in the stainless steel UV's the production of Cloverleaf's plastic bodied UV's will cease during 2006, and in 2007 will only be available as a special factory order. For further details see "Ultra Violet Clarifiers" section |
||
| Below: "Smartstart" Stainless Steel UV Clarifier Units: | |||
![]() |
As an extension to the
current highly popular stainless steel UV range the new “Smartstart SS UV‘s” have been designed taking technology
one further step, whilst making them affordable without the need to rob
a bank. In using “Smartstart” lamps (with a life expectancy of
9000 hours) a great gain in light output efficiency is possible due to
the lamps integral ballast which by default offers consistent
performance throughout the year when compared to conventional lamps with
remote ballasts. “Smartstarts” will be available off the shelf in 4 models - 24 watt, 48 watt, 72 watt, and 144 watt. Special factory orders will be possible up to a massive 864 watt 12 bar unit. For further details see "Ultra Violet Clarifiers" section |
||
| Below: Cloverleaf High Performance Stainless Steel UV Clarifiers: | |||
![]() |
For those seeking top
quality the “High Performance Stainless Steel
UV” Clarifier will instantly appeal. The highly reflective
polished wall finish of the heavy gauge body will do much to improve the
general efficiency and performance of the unit, and these will initially
be launched in 15 Watt and 30 Watt versions – with up to 6 Bar
330 Watt models being available as a special factory order. For further details see "Ultra Violet Clarifiers " section |
||

(555 gph) 45 watt, 1100 LPH (244 gph) 20 watt and the 700 LPH (155 gph)
13 watt. All pumps are supplied with a fountain head kit. For further details see "Pumps & Water Heaters" section |
||
| Below: AquaPower + Low Pressure Pumps | |||
![]() |
The “AquaPower +” (AquaPower Plus) range of low pressure professional watercourse and filter pumps are available in three low energy efficient models, all of which only require low maintenance. They comprise of the 4500 LPH (68 Watt) model – the 7500 LPH (89 Watt) model – and the 14000 LPH (250 Watt) model. These units manufactured in the Netherlands can be used in the pond for normal solids handling for gravity fed filter system installations. Cloverleaf believe that the engineering quality of the “AquaPower” range can be happily compared to any other similar pump on the international market. For further details see "Pumps & Water Heaters" section. |

With
numerous killer virus’s (like KHV) taking their toll on trade fish
stocks, Cloverleaf are currently locked into designing & developing
a range of high-tech commercial ozone systems to tackle such dire
problems. In addition the hobbyist can look forward to the likelihood of
a Cloverleaf Protein Skimmer with Ozone generation. Due to intensive field testing its unlikely that
“Clovozone” systems will be available until mid 2003 – but watch
this space.
