| Introduction To Compact Range | |||
| Frequently
overlooked by the hobbyist this range does have a lot to offer. Key features of
the “Compact Series” (suitable for pump supply only) are the small
footprint when space is restricted, coupled with the innovative design
concept of incorporating an integral vortex style cavity for the
settlement of solids – thereby reducing maintenance. Filtration mediums
comprise of multi foam layers offering both mechanical and biological
attributes, with high performance “Aquarock” forming the foundation
for a biological bed for colonisation from beneficial bacteria. This range
can also be used as a superb separate system for connecting to a skimmer
unit. All units are supplied with a timber slatted lid, together with waste valve set. Special Note: This range can as an optional cost extra have an integrated PSS (Particle Separation System). For further details on PSS refer to PSS section.

As can be seen the pumped water supply enters the cavity of the filter at low level. With the cavity acting as a vortex the solids/particles drop to the bottom settlement area, where they can be drained off without cleaning all the filter mediums. The pond water rises up through the cavity, and via a series of aperture slots discharges into the main body of the filter, where in a downflow action then passes through the mechanical and biological foam layers & Aquarock biological medium, to then rise vertical up through the central pipe following which in due turn returns the healthy filtered water back to the pond. The vertical stack pipe also acts as an overflow. | ||

A superb and under rated filter the VH3/1 illustrated here, is suitable for Koi ponds of 1,000 gallons (4,500 litres), or Goldfish ponds up to 2,000 gallons (9,000 litres). Size is 620mm diameter x 860mm high. This unit really would make a wonderful filter if hooked up to a surface skimmer in a large pond. Note:- Pipe inlet size 110mm (4") - Outlet 82mm (3"). | ||

The VH4/1 illustrated here is a fabulous filter system offering great flexibility of use, and first class for those wishing to extend their current filtration systems due to increase in fish loads. In a stand alone situation the VH4/1 is suitable for Koi ponds up to 1,875 gallons (8,430 litres), or Goldfish ponds up to 3,750 gallons (16,875 litres). Size is 810mm diameter x 1200mm high, and yet again like many of the "Compacts" would make a stunning filter when linked to a surface skimmer. Note:- Pipe inlet size 160mm (6") - Outlet 110mm (4"). | ||
